British Summer Championships - Daily Download (Day 1)
What a fabulous start to day 1 - Evan J is swim 1, with a 400 free PB.
Ioan E executes 2 very different race plans to double dip and lower his PB to below the 4:00 mark. Jakob G exudes fabulousness with confidence and great pacing during his final swim, producing a 3 sec PB and taking the Senior Silver.
Jess P demonstrated great heat to final processes, leading to seasons best in the 200 free.
Wyatt W was right on his best 100 breaststroke time in his first British Champs swim. Richard T performed a great heat PB to make first Brit Champs Final. Dimitrios T continues the momentum with a HUGE heat PB (the biggest PB of the day) to qualify for the 15 years final. Dimi’s first stroke showed great feel for the water and was super powerful.
Ruby D achieved a new 400 IM PB which lead to her seeding inside the golden lanes for the 13/14 years final. Lily B achieved a huge 7sec improvement from her heat to final, taking 4th in the 17/18 age group. Rachel A took the positives from her morning swim and actioned the potential improvements that were highlighted, leading to stronger back end, a PB and bronze medal.
Sam D-D achieved a PB during the 50 backstroke heats in his first British Champs. Adam G demonstrated great strength into the finish, also achieving the 3rd biggest drop of the day. Matt H crossed the 28 sec barrier, swimming to a new personal best during the heats. Calvin F experimented with a higher stroke rate and improved head position to swim himself into a final. Solomon W demonstrated awesome underwater work to earn himself the 2nd biggest percentage drop of the day. David O’L broke the School Record TWICE in one day; PB-night during heat and final.
Alice C skated on the surface to achieve her 2nd best EVER 50 breaststroke during the heats. Izzy R took disappointment on the chin, showing wonderful race reflection to maintain confidence into rest of her Champs programme - great maturity and growth. Abbie H improved from heat to final. Lily B double dipped in the 17/18 age group.
Day 1 was full of tough racing with a lot of positives to take forward for the rest of the week. Day 2 consists of 23 individual events. If you want to check results from the British Summer Championships you can find them HERE.
