Millfield progress to the National Arena League Cup Final.
Millfield Swimming will have the opportunity to test themselves against the strongest teams from across the country after qualifying for the National Arena League Cup Final in March over the weekend.
They secured the spot at the Western Premier Division Final after finishing in a creditable fourth place.
Following the school break last Friday, the athletes available, attacked each and every race in Newport with the intention of clocking times that would allow the team the best possible chance of virtual qualification.
Throughout the Regional Final, the lead exchanged several times. The Millfield coaches were captivated by the whole team’s spirited effort. The following swimmers were extremely impressive -
11yrs - Francesca Woollard and Zac Cooper
13yrs - Izzy Woollard and Solomon Williams
15yrs - Astrid Hannah and Matthew Hall
Open - Rachel Anderson and Santos Villalon
The Millfield 11/U Boys were also able to celebrate double success, collecting maximum points from both of their relays.
Coach Clarke commented: ‘’We showed tremendous consistency across all three rounds. This was a good team performance and we can now look forward to an exciting Cup Final in March.’’
The top ten teams in the country will contest the Cup Final, those teams ranked 11-20th will battle it out in the B Final.
