Daniel Waddingham - Assistant Swimming Coach & Athletic Development Lead
As a previous swimmer competing at a Youth International level and a UKSCA accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach, Daniel brings a diverse skill set to the coaching team and joins Millfield School as an Assistant Swim Coach taking a lead on athletic development. Having graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Sports Science, Daniel went on to gain an MSc in Strength & Conditioning from St Mary’s University, Twickenham whilst researching into pre-activation protools during race day timelines.
Daniel has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2012 working in multi-disciplinary high performance team for an array of sports and athletes competing at various levels. His previous experience includes working in a multi sport environment at Plymouth College, leading the Strength and Conditioning programme for Basketball Wales and working alongside coaches at Swansea University and the former Swansea ITC.
Best swimming moment of all time:
Watching Adam Whitehead win the 2002 Commonwealth Games in the 100m Breaststroke and Gibson, Whitehead, Mew place 1-2-3 in the 50m Breaststroke for Team England.
Daniel's Interesting Fact:
2 weeks before Dan’s first Nationals he lost a front tooth riding into the back of a parked car. His fake tooth sometimes falls out when eating Naan bread.
