LIN SKIRTON: Assistant Coach Prep School Swimming

Background:

Lin has been teaching local schools for 30 years.10 years ago she became Helen`s assistant coach at the Prep school and has loved every moment of the teaching, coaching and competitions with Helen. She teaches the Pre Prep school, starting with Kindergarten (age 3) through to year 2.Her knowledge and experience gives these young children a great start by learning basic skills and good technique. She also has a passion for competitive swimming and admits that working with Helen coaching the squad through the programme is happy, fun and greatly rewarding. Lin was in International swimmer gaining a silver medal at the European games and a bronze medal at the commonwealth games. She represented Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics.

Best Swimming moment of all time:

Having taught Rio Kurihara to swim from the arm bands/confidence building stage at the age of 3, it has to be when Rio first became national age group champion in2008-What a thrilling and proud moment. The 2010 National age group championships equal this as Rio gained 7 gold medals and broke the British record in the 200 Breast stroke. Sharing all these successes with Helen was thrilling and very emotional!
