Euan’s Interesting Fact:
Euan’s father, Ronnie Dale, was a rally driver and currently holds a world land speed record for a 4X4 diesel vehicle.
EUAN DALE - Assistant Coach
Background:
A former Millfieldien himself, 1997-2004, Euan Dale returns after a 6 year hiatus in which he attended Loughborough University competing on their prestigious swim team and receiving a degree in Accounting and Finance. Euan is a highly decorated swimmer – a double Commonwealth silver medallist (400m IM & 4x200m Freestyle relay), a European silver medallist (4x200m Freestyle relay) and a 9-time British National Champion. To top it off, he competed for Britain in the Olympic Games, swimming in the 400IM alongside the great Michael Phelps. Euan joins Millfield from Warrender Bath Swimming Club in Edinburgh where he worked with their age group program. Whilst attending Millfield Euan was developed by current director of swimming at the Prep School, Helen Gouldby.
Best Swimming moment of all time:
It’s a joint winner, watching Michael Phelps win 8 gold medals and the two British girls, Becky adlington and Jo Jackson, winning gold and bronze in the 400m freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
On a personal level it has to be winning two silver medals for Scotland at the 2006 Commonwealth games.
