Liam Wilcox - Assistant Coach

Liam began volunteering when he was nine, doing demonstrations and then helping on poolside. When he was 15 Liam took part in the Young Volunteers programme and had the opportunity to gain his team manager 1, judge 1 and then his level 1 teaching qualifications. At club he was then given a small group of swimmers to work with, developing their skills, techniques and supporting them at galas and open meets.

Following this, Liam was selected to join the National Young Coaches Academy and the following year the National Young Officials Academy. These programmes lead to being selected as a mentor at the last National Talent camp.

Liam has a strong passion for his work and stick by the mantra that "if you believe, you can achieve” . Liam stands firm on the belief that getting the chance to help young people find their first few steps on their journey is the best feeling.
