James Clarke - Assistant Coach
A former Millfieldian himself, (whilst attending Millfield, James swam alongside current Director of Swimming, Euan Dale!) during 2002-2007, James Clarke returns to Millfield after attending both Loughborough University and the University of Hawaii. Whilst competing for these prestigious swim teams, James received a degree in Sports Management.
James brings both a rich International swimming background, along with his team-orientated mind following his time swimming in the USA. James has swum for Great Britain at both Junior and Senior level, and as a Junior he broke three British Junior, and Age Group records. During his time in Hawaii, James narrowly missed the school record for the 500 yard Freestyle, helped the University win their first ever Conference title, and was the teams captain in his Senior Year. James rejoins Millfield after his two-year adventure in Singapore coaching at United World College with the talented athletes and coaches in the program.
James brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the coaching team and will head up the multi-sport squad that includes several International and National athletes.
Best swimming moment of all time:
James Guy's anchor leg on the World Championship winning 4 x 200m Freestyle team. A special swim by an extraordinary talent.
James's interesting fact:
James cycled from London to Paris to raise money for Sudden Arythmic Death Syndrome, in memory of a close friend.
